Being Jewish with Jonah Platt: Tovah Feldshuh

Tovah Feldshuh, the Emmy and Tony-nominated star of Nobody Wants This, joins Jonah Platt on Being Jewish with Jonah Platt for an unfiltered conversation about Bina, Golda Meir and Israel’s future.

Most actors change their names to sound less Jewish. Tovah went the other way, and turned it into a career playing some of the most iconic Jewish women of the last century. Jonah puts the biggest criticism of Nobody Wants This straight to the woman who plays Bina, and she doesn’t hold back. She also has plenty to say about what it takes to stand up as a Jew in Hollywood right now, and who she thinks is getting it wrong.

Then it goes deeper. Tovah looks back on the miniseries that put the Holocaust in front of the world, and on a confrontation from that time that she has never forgotten. She shares what her father did after World War II, the producer who tried to make her change her name, and the choice between two roles that changed everything. And after October 7th, she had an idea for Golda that she couldn’t get off the ground. Why not?

Stay for the lightning round, where she answers in character.
