JBS, the Jewish Broadcasting Service, a nonprofit national cultural television network covering the panorama of Jewish life is now available in Arizona on Comcast CH 1684, Direct TV CH 388, the streaming services of ROKU, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and on the JBS Website at www.jbstv.org.
Programs on JBS are broadcast to more than 70 million homes and include daily news from Israel, the JBS News Desk, leading Jewish figures, issues and events of Jewish importance, live services, national conferences, major addresses, a variety of Jewish Studies including Hebrew Lessons, Jewish 101, Talmud Study and Kabbalah, exclusive presentations from New York’s 92nd Street Y, children’s programs, films, music, cuisine, travelogues of Israel, entertainment and much more. JBS does not represent any specific movement of Judaism or organization within the Jewish community.
As one viewer said recently, “Television can reach more people than any other medium so I hope people who would like to enrich their involvement in Jewish life, or people who wish to reconnect with their Jewish roots, as well as people who have never met a Jewish person in their life, all learn and enjoy what JBS can offer.”
JBS regularly broadcasts Live Reform Shabbat services from Central Synagogue in Manhattan and pre-recorded Modern Orthodox services from the Hampton Synagogue in Long Island every Friday evening and Saturday morning as well as High Holiday and festival services. A schedule of JBS’ High Holiday programming can be found here: www.jbstv.org.
