Purpose
Obtain underwriting support to sustain and expand JBS’ original series, Dimensions of the Daf, hosted by Senior Lecturer for Gateways Organization, Rabbi Mordechai Becher.
Rationale
The Talmud is the foundational text of Jewish law and much of its tradition. Talmud study is one of the oldest and most important forms of Jewish education. However, most Jews today cannot read a page of Talmud. There have long been few avenues for a novice Jewish learner to learn and understand Talmud. Thanks to JBS, the wisdom of the Rabbis can be studied by tens of thousands of people in their own homes.
Description
Dimensions of the Daf is an original JBS series exploring major themes from the Talmud in a fascinating and humorous way. JBS currently adds 20 new episodes a year to its existing archive of about 80; however, given the popularity of the series, JBS would like to produce as many as 40 new episodes annually.
Funding Needs
JBS seeks a gift of $100,000 to help underwrite the airing of Dimensions of the Daf for one year. Recognition will include exclusive on-air listing of donor as principal supporter of program at the opening and close of each episode for one year.
